We booked our trip a year in advance and confirmed it with the guide 3 days in advance. We were given 4 different reasons for why this happened by four different staff and when we tried to reschedule, we were told they were fully booked. We were told to wait on the dock at 6am and nobody showed up. Our experienced guide for our $2,300 full day guided fishing trip no showed to our appointment the night before our trip and no showed the day of our trip. We also took kayaks and were able to go upstream for a bit at high tide. We hired a boat and caught a good Salmon haul. So being a fishing resort was very noisy and busy at certain times of the day…mainly 5am 😬 I can still hear the crunch of big trucks on gravel 😂 The staff were all extremely helpful and full of info re where to catch fish etc. Also the Yurt backed on to the road leading to the boat ramp, carpark for restaurant and reception. Lucky for us we could retreat to our extended families’ camping spot which was well shaded with a beautiful breeze. The deck was lovely but also no shade on decor for a small umbrella over the table. We could lie on the bed and look out accros the water, divine! Only 2 small complaints Yurt 2 was soooo hot! It was a Celsius 30+ day when we arrived, It was in full sun nearly all day and closed up, it was stifling inside and took hours to cool down.
Well appointed with a really comfy king bed and pillows. We stayed in a mini yurt for the first 2 nights.
